[Chorus:]
Chh chh-chh, uh, Chh chh-chh, uh
Chh chh-chh, uh, Chh chh-chh, uh
Chh chh-chh, uh, Chh chh-chh, uh
Chh chh-chh, uh, Chh chh-chh, uh
Chh chh-chh, uh, Chh chh-chh, uh
Chh chh-chh, uh, Chh chh-chh
When the writing’s done and the weather is fine
You can go for a walk and see the sky
When the weather is fine
You got edits, you got edits on your mind
Have a drink, have a kiss
Walk out and see what you have missed.
If the cover is good go on out for a meal
If the cover is bad you can’t do what you feel
Speed along the game
Write a grand or a grand and twenty five
When the sun goes down
You got coffee, you got coffee standing by
Words on the screen
They’re not bad, they’re not mean
They will do as they please
When the weather is fine
We go walkin’, we go walkin’ by the sea
Words are for writin’ yeah, that’s our philosophy
Sing along with me
Dee dee dee-dee dee
Dah dah dah-dah dah
Yeah we’re hap-happy
Dah dah-dah
Dee-dah-do dee-dah-do dah-do-dah
Dah-do-dah-dah-dah
Dah-dah-dah do-dah-dah
Of course, the above lyrics have been changed from Mungo Jerry’s “Summertime”. I don’t own the song, but I do take credit for the terrible changes I have made.
Wow, it’s been a minute since I’ve posted, hasn’t it? It’s not like I’ve been ignoring you, or anything; I’ve had posting in the back of my mind, I swear!
There was math, and then Annie, and then a whole bunch of other things; and this really sounds like an ‘it’s not you, it’s me’ conversation, doesn’t it?

The good news is; Annie is actually done. Her re-writes have been written, a whole lot has been added, some has been taken away, and all of her has been sent off to the editor.
And Shiri can keep her. For a while, anyway. There’s a lot that needs to be done, and she is (one of my) only hope(s).
Added to the writing roster is Detective Alton Bentely, NOLAPD circa 1920, who can talk to the dead. He isn’t ready to be a book yet, but I finished a 10k short story last night, and (finally) managed to write Blood on the Quarter. That particular story sits at 7,500 words. I’m hoping for an anthology acceptance, but if not, I’ll be putting him out on Amazon. For keepsies.
For now, however, the writing is done. Hence the fun song at the beginning of the post. I’m not sad that it’s done.

Okay, maybe I’m a little sad.
But honest and truly, I need the break. Not from the blog, of course. No, no, I’ve taken a vacation from you for long enough, but a break from the act of writing itself. School plays a factor. A big factor.
Animation school isn’t easy.
I tell people 14-18 hours of homework and they look at me like I’m high or something. Like drawing is easy. People do it in their spare time and whatnot.

But school isn’t the only factor. I’ve a laundry list of ‘to-do’ I’ve put off because Annie has taken up so much of my time. As terrible as that sounds, it’s the truth. She has a release date, and I mean to keep it.
Now that the writing is done, however, I can re-focus. There’s the BACARTIS to get going again, NFW to begin recording, editing that has nothing to do with my work to finish, and things to draw.
Naturally.
Also, blogging to do.
When I can figure out what I want to blog about.
Because blog.
Toodles!
Congrats. 🙂
Thank you!
