Oof. I’m so tired. Really, really tired. I should have gone to bed at seven o’clock, when I was falling asleep. But like an idiot, I stayed up.
And now I’m tired. Maybe not a bad thing that I stayed up, I’ve gotten pretty far on GRIMMAULD: DEATH’S DAUGHTER (more on that in a minute) but boy, oh boy, did I suffer today. Longest. breakfast shift. ever.
And now I have to go to the gym. It’s not like I want to go to the gym. Oh no. No, thank you. That stuffy room can keep its weights and its nightmarish running machines that go nowhere.
I’d much rather stay in bed. Or write. Mostly in bed.
But I need to go. The holidays are over and I don’t fancy gaining weight back that it’s taken me a year to lose. But damn, my bed sounds good right now.
I am pleased to announce that I am halfway through the first draft of a new project; GRIMMAULD: DEATH’S DAUGHTER.
“My name is Grimm.
Well, if you want to be formal about it; Grimmauld Regina-Ann Mayweather.
But that doesn’t matter.
My dad is Death.
Except half the time he’s too drunk to remember that fact. So, I’m doing his job for him.
That matters, too.
But that’s also part of the problem, because I kind of sent someone to Hell. She wasn’t supposed to go there! It was a mistake! It’s not like a meant to do it!
Don’t judge me. You try being Death for a day and see how well you do!
What’s worse is I can’t figure out how to bring her back. And she-the person I sent to Hell-is sort of this guy I know, well, she’s his mom. And it’s not like dad is around-or cognizant of his surroundings-to ask. And, there’s another problem. I don’t know why, but the Snatchers are out.
And that matters a lot.
DEATH’S DAUGHTER is going to be the first of two books in my BOOK OF THE DEAD series. A two part-er. Because I don’t think I can keep Grimm going for much longer than that. We’ll see, though, shall we?
I’m excited for it. You can read DEVIL’S DEN (parts 1&2) on the blog now. If you are so inclined.
In other news; my time in England is winding down. I’m leaving this country some time in March. I’m terrible at updating this thing as it stands. Here is the forewarning that it might get worse as March creeps closer on the calendar. I’ve got places I still want to see and people I would very much like to spend time with before I have to go back to the States and bury myself in studies so I can finally get my degree.
Of which I have mixed feelings on. And which will, undoubtedly, make up a blog entry. One of these days.
For now, I’m happy for the opportunity to go and get a decent education. A writer is what I want to be when I grow up, but there is no guarantee that it will pay the bills. And I like to eat. A decent education will at least allow me to pursue my writing dreams whilst holding down a job that keeps a roof over my head and food on my table.
Which is a good thing.
And besides, my mom bought me the hoodie for Christmas. I kind of have to go now.
Lastly, I have had to stop editing on the Nightly-Edition. Not because I wanted too, but because Grimm has taken over and because I owe a very good friend of mine the edits on his story. He’s been waiting very patiently for me to do so whilst we’ve been writing UNTITLED: WHAT’S ON YOUR MIND. Well, he’s been writing it, I’m waiting to do the edits.
So my friends, that is the business. And now you are in it.
I’m not going to the gym! I refuse!
